Warnings about Charlatans

It has come to my attention that there are certain groups out there claiming to be
something they are not. In this claim, these people are giving false hope to TRUE
seekers of the Wicca. The site is here . The claims are to teach 'real' Gardnerian and
Alexandrian Wicca, while charging fees for this training.
Our traditions do not do this. We don't charge for teaching or offer online initiations. If
a seeker contacts a teacher who isn't willing to verify their lineage or says they can't (it's
oathbound), or if the seeker is met with hostility when asking questions, espeically ones
relating to verifying truth of the validity of lineage it is our recommendation that the
seeker should look elsewhere for valid training.
A group of concerned initiates from both traditions are beginning to address this issue.
See below to my response. I have received several very ugly replies from the leader of
this 'group' in response to my concerns.
The Letter:
Elders of the Alexandrian and Gardnerian Traditions have made numerous attempts to
contact you and verify the claims on your website of "Authentic Traditional Alexandrian
(and Gardnerian) Witchcraft Training" online.
Thus far these attempts have been met either with silence, or with the statement that
"Lineage is oath bound". As Elders of the Traditions you claim to teach, we know this
to be completely false, a claim often made by charlatan's with something to hide.
"Online training and Initiations" are not performed in the Alexandrian or Gardnerian
traditions of Wicca, nor are they recognized as legitimate or valid within our Traditions.
Isis Moon Online Temple also charges a minimum "$50 Love offering" per year for
teaching, this again is not in keeping with the Wiccan Traditions you claim to teach. It is
a tenant of our traditions not to take money for the arte, or for training, or Initiation.
You claim on your site to have been training people privately for the last 30 years.
Needless to say, no one in either of our Traditions, has ever heard of you or any of
your Initiates.
The claims on your website are false. We will not tolerate anyone using our Traditions
names as a means to line their pockets with the money of innocent seekers of British
Traditional Wicca.
As an Elder of the Alexandrian Tradition of the Wicca, I demand that you cease and
desist claiming to be High Priesthood of the Alexandrian and Gardnerian Traditions. I
insist that you drop all references to the Gardnerian and Alexandrian tradition from your
websites and e-lists immediately.
You are not properly prepared to train or initiate others into our Traditions and you
have absolutly no right to the Alexandrian and Gardnerian names.
Letters such as this will be circulated throughout the International Pagan community,
and multiple websites stating all the facts and information above, will be put up until you
comply. SO MOTE IT BE.
