The Goddess Rosary
Some may wonder why a Witch would be compelled to say the Rosary. All I
can say is there is a soothing feeling to the repetetiveness of the Rosary, and the
praise we are giving the Great Mother.
The below is a meditative Rosary I found while surfing the net, dedicated to the
Goddess. It's a humble act of devotion deisgned to bring us closer to Her. You
can make your own Rosary if you like, or can purchase one. It's not hard to find
one that a Pagan can use. I've seen them made out of small rosebuds, wood,
stones like lapis, rose quartz and jade. The one I purchased is the Rose Petal
Rosary, made is Spain out of pressed rose petals. The crucifix on the end has
grapes and grape vine at each of the four points, and behind the body a large sun
disk. The medal has the face of Mary and the other side a woman praying the
Rosary at a shrine to Mary.
When using a standard Catholic rosary to count the prayers, start with the
crucifix. Then proceed one bead at a time towards the medal. After the medal,
simply follow the beads around the rosary.
Before beginning, make the sign of the Pentagram in honor of the Lady as the
Holy Rose by starting with the first two fingers touching the forehead (the "Third
Eye") to the left breast, up to the right shoulder, over to the left shoulder, down
to the right breast, and finally, back again to the forehead.
On the Crucifix: The Affirmation
We embrace the primordial Unity of the Holy, and the eternal epiphany of the
Ineffable, reflected in the revelation of Sophia and the Logos; through Whom the
ages were framed, the galaxies fashioned, and the world brought forth into being.
We adore the Mother of all Mysteries, Mistress of Magick and the Moon,
crowned with the horns of Isis; and Her celestial Consort, the Lord of Light,
clothed in the splendor of the Sun. We worship the Great Goddess, Queen of
Nature, adorned with the beauty of the Earth; and Her Son, the Dying and
Rising God, Lord of the Cycles of Life. We affirm our reverence for the ancient
rites, our respect for timeless Tradition, and our responsibility for the
stewardship of the Sacred. We proclaim our Quest for the Gnosis of the
Numinous as a priesthood in the service of the Grail: seekers of the Spirit,
Templars of the Truth. So we have sworn; so shall it be.
First Bead: The Gloria of the Goddess
All glory be unto Thee, O Goddess, in the heights of Thy constellations,

We give Thee thanks! We praise Thee, Age-abiding Wise One,

Second Bead: The Gloria of the Goddess, continued
Blessed Be, O High and Holy Lady; Thou, Who in union with Thy Consort, art
the Unity of Earth and Sky!

It should be noted that all of the prayers recited on the decades, as well as the All Praise prayer are
adapted from the OAG Charge of the Goddess. The concluding prayer is taken from an altered
translation of Ave Dei Patris Filia by The Rev. Ormus, O.A.G.
We encourage you to experiment with the recitation of this Rosary in honor of the Goddess, and let us
know in what ways it begins to affect or deepen your personal devotions to our Lady.
One final note: The prayers of this Rosary should be memorized for maximum effect upon one's spirit
during prayer. For those in the OAG this should not prove to be a major obstacle, since most of these
have already been committed to memory through constant ritual usage.
